A moon telescope at an observatory was my help here. Put my camera up to the eyepiece and bam! It's not a giant resolution, but it's pretty good coming from an 8MP non-professional camera, if I must say. In this case, the telescope was the major factor in the quality, as it was at least 6 inches across at the opening, compared to my 1-inch lens.
